Welcome to the FIRST ALERT help page. From time to time we will post topics on this page to help users navigate through FIRST ALERT, or perform a task. If you need help, please drop us an email at help@1st-alert.org. Please remember the help address is not monitored 24/7, but we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Topic - Joining
When you join, you receive via email a randomly generated password to participate in FIRST ALERT. The initial password you received for participation is intended to be temporary, and should be changed to insure the security of our site. Your participation approval and level is subject to the review of the site administrators. Once approved, you will be able to view and or write alerts.
Change Password:
Login to the FIRST ALERT dashboard. You will find a login form in the sidebar on the right side of your screen, when on the Home Page. Enter your username and password. Usernames and passwords are case sensitive. Click the Write / Manage link. When the Dashboard opens, you will see a link on the left, under the Welcome label that takes you to the screen to “Update your profile or change your password”.
Topic - Posting
When writing a post, limit your use of bold type. Bold type will tend to run off the page and displace the sidebar on the right.
